A Grade II listed property built in 1820, Bradshaw House replaced a house on this site that was occupied by John Bradshaw, the Mayor of Congleton in 1637 and the president of the court which sentenced King Charles I to death. Prior to development, the local authority had used the building for offices but had been identified as being surplus to requirement and the opportunity arose to convert into supported living accommodation. Meeting the local housing need with small, one bedroom accommodation, Bradshaw House has been sensitively restored and converted to retain all original ceilings, windows, openings and joinery but improved to cater for modern regulations and separating fire and sound requirements of a block of apartments.
