Originally a dated bungalow on a large plot, the client approached us to transform the property into their “forever” home that they could settle in. Plagued by the quirks of their previous property, the brief was simple: create a functional, spacious home that could be easily shut down into areas, but opened up with a central hub for all of the family. An immediate axis to the building was formed, with the pivot acting as the hub with ancillary spaces located close by so they were never unnecessarily far away wherever you were in the house.

Demolishing the majority of the rear elevation but maintaining the load bearing use of a spine wall through the building, a large full length rear extension, pitched front extension and triple garage extension was proposed and granted permission in early 2024. A subsequent pool house and outdoor swimming pool was added to the grounds as a separate application, completing the whole development and providing substantial facilities that are easily accessible and suited to the clients’ needs.
